Connections
A connection is the file server an automation reads from or writes to. Most of what you enter is the partner's to dictate — the host, the login, and whether they run plain FTP, FTPS, or SFTP — so the settings below are the few you are expected to decide, and each one has a safe default.
Two of them are trust decisions rather than plumbing. A host fingerprint pins the server's identity so a swapped-out server is refused instead of trusted, and saving without verifying stores details nothing has yet proved work. Reach for either only when the partner's setup gives you no choice.
Passive mode
Lets this app open the data connection instead of the server calling back. Leave it on unless the partner says otherwise.
Use SSL (FTPS)
Encrypts a plain FTP connection. Turn it on only if the partner runs FTPS — an ordinary FTP server refuses it.
Host fingerprint
Pins the server's identity so a swapped-out server is refused rather than trusted. Leave it blank unless the partner gave you one.
Root folder
The folder every path on this connection is read from. Leave it blank to start wherever the login lands.
Timeout
How long a run waits for this server before giving up. Raise it only for a server you know is slow to answer.
Save without verifying
Saves the details without dialling the server. Use it when the partner hasn't opened access yet — nothing confirms they work.
