Fee source
A fee amount is only as trustworthy as where it came from, so each one records its own source rather than being folded anonymously into a total. The four sources form a ladder: the marketplace refines its own figure as an order moves toward settlement, and our own estimate stands in only while it has reported nothing at all.
A fee is replaced, never added to, when a better source arrives — so a cost that changes between two readings of the same order is the ladder working, not double counting.
Estimated fee rate
A modeled rate calculated from your own settled fees, used only until the marketplace reports the real one.
Order-charges estimate
A preliminary fee estimate the marketplace attaches to your order, before it reports the settled amount.
Financial-events estimate
A preliminary fee figure from the marketplace's financial-events feed, reported for your order before settlement finalizes it.
Settled fee
The fee amount the marketplace actually charged you, reported once its settlement report closes.
Sources matter most when you are reconciling. A total built from settled fees should match what the marketplace paid out; one built from estimates is not expected to.
